How are stairlifts powered?
Modern stairlifts are typically powered by two rechargeable, sealed lead acid batteries which are located in the chassis under the chair. Stairlifts need to be plugged into the mains and switched on at all times. This is so that the batteries remain on trickle charge when the Stairlift is not in use.
