Can I get help to buy a Stairlift if I can’t afford one?

Yes, there are various avenues available to people who can’t afford a Stairlift. If you own your own home, you can apply to your local council for a Stairlift by way of a Disabled Facilities Grant or DFG. Stairlifts that are supplied through a DFG are usually means tested, but not always. It depends on where you live. If you live in rented accommodation through the council or rent your property through a housing association and you feel you could benefit from a Stairlift, contact the council or housing association respectively and they will normally be able to help you get a Stairlift.
