Does a stairlift damage the stairs?

No. A stairlift rail is fixed to the stair treads using small bolts or screws. This does not damage the structural integrity of the staircase, and the fixings are easily filled when the stairlift is removed. There is no impact on the walls, banisters, or building fabric.
